Ron Howard, Ph.D.

Dr. Ron Howard
is an assistant professor in the Counseling Department. He has served as is an
administrator and instructor in Indiana University-Purdue University, Old
Dominion University, and Florida State University. He has also served as a
psychologist to a major school district in Texas and Texas A & M University.
His background also reflects extensive work in mental health and state agencies.
Further, he has served as a quality management consultant (ISO 9000) to
corporations in the United States and as a configuration management analyst with
Dow Chemical Company in the Kennedy Space Center, Florida.
Dr. Howard received his Ph.D. from Florida State University and received his
bachelors and masters degrees from Florida A & M University. His instructional
approach is highly focused on community, family and school
counseling/intervention. He has trained extensively in education, health, social
services and corporations. He has also conducted research in issues effecting
graduate students retention, graduate counseling student's theoretical
orientation development, and counseling intervention in Afro-American families.
Dr. Howard teaches courses in abnormal psychology, counseling process, group
dynamics and theories and practices in counseling.
